Bunny's Story
One busy Saturday in March 2025 a very nice man came to the shelter carrying a box. He said he was driving on Highway 75 and McDermott when he saw something tossed out the car window in front of him. He was not sure what it was, so he stopped on highway 75 to check. It was a tiny kitten, and he could tell she was injured, cuts to her face and she was not able to stand on her own. This kind man rushed the kitten to a nearby vet clinic and paid for emergency X-rays to be performed. The result, a broken femur. The man could not keep a pet at the time, so the veterinarian told him to take the kitten to the Allen Animal Shelter. One of the shelters long time volunteers was there that day and made an instant connection with the tiny, injured kitten.
Bowe’s Buddies were the next to meet this little miracle as we took her into foster care so that she could rest and recover from her trauma. As she did, the volunteer from the shelter kept thinking about her and decided once she was ready to adopt her.
Bunny now lives in a loving home and hopefully has forgotten about her rough start to life.
