Be Their Second Chance

Bowe’s Buddies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster-based organization that partners with Allen Animal Services to care for the city’s most vulnerable shelter pets—those who are too young, too fragile, or too stressed to remain in a kennel environment.

Fostering saves lives. It gives pets a safe place to land when they need it most. It creates space in the shelter for incoming animals. And it gives kittens, puppies, seniors, and sick or injured pets the one-on-one care they would never receive in a traditional shelter setting.

When you foster, you’re not just helping a pet—you’re changing their future.

Just like Bowe. Bowe was born to a sick, young mama cat at the shelter. While his siblings were adopted quickly, Bowe was left behind—born with Radial Hypoplasia, a condition that made him different. He needed extra care, time, and patience. He found all three in a foster home. Today, Bowe is thriving—and his story inspires everything we do.

Puppies & kittens too young for adoption

Young animals need time to grow, build immunity, and learn basic behaviors before they’re ready for forever homes. Fostering gives them the safe start they need to thrive.

Some pets need time to heal in a calm, stress-free environment. Fostering gives them the space, rest, and care they need to recover fully before adoption.

Dogs & cats who are shut down in the shelter

Some animals become withdrawn or overwhelmed in the shelter environment. Fostering helps them regain trust, feel safe, and show their true personalities in a home setting.
